Tailor made for the Ambulance Service Emergency Medical Dispatch Centre the EMDC Dashboard presents sea change in the way we can monitor all aspects of the operation. Essentially the Dashboard continuously monitors each of the key aspects of operational control, for example Call Answering Times, Hospital Turnarounds, Status Plan Compliance, Non Planned Resources, Rest Period Provision and Demand Vs Supply. When any single aspect of the operation is falling below standard the Web based Dashboard monitor will clearly indicate this, even from the opposite side of the room! Drilling down into the offending area will quickly allow the dispatch manager to see the factor which is contribution to the failure, and allow them to react to the situation.

Because all of this is Web based it is freely able to be deployed across the organisation this allows, for example individual hospital turn-around times to be monitored by operational managers who can then react to and target the offending units.

EMDC Dashboard has been designed to not only show the current situation but to inform the manager of the recent history so that an instant appraisal of the situation worsening or being resolved in immediately available.

There are of course a number of other Dashboard type systems available however we firmly believe that none can offer the whole picture from a Control point of view.

We anticipate that the success of the EMDC Dashboard will result in other developments in this area, for example a 'Production' Dashboard and an Executive Dashboard and planned.
