C3 Virtual Control Tested (18/02/2008)
Alert C3 has passed critical user based testing for the implementation of a region wide virtual control implementation.
The final stage in a comprehensive series of performance testing has been carried out by the Trust, on this occasion some 20 new C3 Clients were logged in over the wide area network, onto the live operational system.
All aspects of the operation were tested from the remote site, from both Call-Taking and Dispatch, through to call-searching and Status Plan Management, with client performance virtually indistinguishable from local users.
Bandwidth utilisation was significantly less than that required under the minimum recommended specification, with the average client requirement at a very respectable 200kb.
In view of the success of the testing, the implementation of the Satellite control centre will be completed during the first two weeks in July. The centre has been sized up to accommodate up to 40 remote users however in the first instance only 20 clients will be required.
